01. Initial Consultation
The first stage of the process is a visit to look at your garden and discuss your requirements. This is an opportunity for you to share your ideas and for us to find out more about you and your garden.
Following this, we will provide you with a fee proposal with your requirements clearly outlined and work with you to develop a detailed brief. This ensures that the final design will not only look the way you imagined but that it will include the attention to detail that makes a garden really special.
-
02. Site Survey
Before design work begins, a topographical survey is required to measure the existing garden. This is vital in order to create accurate plans and prevent unnecessary expenditure and design changes in the future. We can provide recommendations for specialist land surveyors in your area.
At this stage we will also undertake our own site analysis to ensure that we have assessed all potential opportunities and limitations of the space.

03. Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA)
If your garden is in a sensitive location, it may require a full Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment as part of the planning process.
For such schemes, and as part of our overall landscape design service, we are able to provide full Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA). The LVIA is carried out by chartered landscape architects and adheres to the Guidelines for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment published jointly by the Landscape Institute and the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment 2013.

04. Outline Plan
Now for the exciting part. The outline plan is presented as a 2D scaled drawing showing you how the final garden will look. All our designs are created using CAD software and 3D plans can also be included to help you visualise the garden from different angles.
We’ll present our ideas for your garden and talk through any changes that you may wish to make all of which can be done quickly and easily.

05. The Build
When you’re happy with the outline design, we’ll create detailed drawings to enable a contractor to give an accurate estimate and build the garden. We don’t employ our own contractors but we have excellent links and can help select the most suitable one for your garden.
If required, we can also prepare all the tendering documentation needed for obtaining quotes. This ensures fair price comparisons are made for all contractors and that the garden is built exactly as expected.
-
06. Site Monitoring
Making sure that building work progresses to plan can be a full-time job. Without someone to ask the right questions and oversee the build, projects don’t always go to plan and can get delayed. We are available to monitor all works to completion, ensuring that your build is finished to a high standard, to agreed timescales and to budget.
We can also handle all liaison with architects, council officers, contractors and other professionals for you.

07. Planting Plan
Plants are an integral part of any garden design. Whether you want new planting beds to complement your new garden, or simply want to revitalise your existing beds, we will design a planting plan to create the overall ambience you are looking for.
As well as showing exactly how the plants will be arranged in each bed, a planting schedule will detail the quantity, botanical name and size of plants required. We also offer a full plant supply and planting service.

08. Aftercare
Landscapes and gardens are living things, they take time to establish, grow and develop. Once we hand over your new garden we are able to offer an aftercare service tailored to your needs. This includes working with your gardener or appointing a maintenance team to providing a month by month gardening guide to help ensure your plants thrive.
We love it when clients keep in touch and are able to offer detailed reviews on a regular basis if required.
